KESS3

The KESS3 has been developed to provide for everyone from enthusiasts to mechatronics technicians with a quick and easy interface for flashing any engine controller and automatic transmission. Alientech has been designing and developing controller mapping tools since 1991 and is one of the leaders in this segment. A new microprocessor, the latest generation of I/O interfaces, new embedded sensors and high performance EEPROM and FLASH memories are the main features of the KESS3. The new version of the flasher enables reading and writing ECUs of cars, trucks, agricultural machinery, work equipment and motorboats.

Uses of KESS3

KESS3 is the ideal solution for professional chiptuning. All 3 modes are supported:

• OBD mode for access via the vehicle diagnostic socket
• Bench mode for connection via the controller connector
• Boot mode for direct connection to the control unit

There are 2 versions of KESS3: Master and Slave:

• Master is unencrypted and therefore allows you to store, read and write files independently without being tied to or dependent on another computer. For most users, the Master is the logical choice if they intend to develop their tuning career and purchase MOD files from various sources.
• Slave can do almost everything the Master can do, except that whoever sells you or is the Master of your Slave machine is the only person or company capable of supplying your MOD files that will work with your machine. (Files for Slave machines are encrypted and only files from the supplying Master will work).

For each version, you can order any of the 8 following licenses:

• Passenger and light commercial vehicles - OBD mode (+2990 EUR Master / +1290 EUR Slave)
• Motorcycles - OBD mode (+1290 EUR Master / +590 EUR Slave)
• Heavy Duty Vehicles - OBD Mode (+2990 EUR Master / +1290 EUR Slave)
• Boats - OBD mode (+1290 EUR Master / +590 EUR Slave)
• Passenger cars and light commercial vehicles - Bench + Boot mode (+2490 EUR Master / +990 EUR Slave)
• Motorcycles - Bench + Boot mode (+890 EUR Master / +390 EUR Slave)
• Heavy Duty Vehicles - Bench + Boot mode (+2490 EUR Master / +990 EUR Slave)
• Boats - Bench + Boot mode (+890 EUR Master / +390 EUR Slave)

All license activations for new HW include a 12-month subscription. New activations will take over the subscription of existing licenses.

Update Prices

Prices for 12 months of upgrades vary by system type, with upgrades for Master and Slave costing €1,190 and €590 respectively. Missed upgrade periods must be paid in addition.

• USB cable, required to connect to the KESS3 via computer.
• New generation OBD cable that integrates all the communication lines used by the various car manufacturers; this cable therefore replaces the various cables used by KESSv2; specifically, it is also able to communicate with Honda, Volvo, Lotus and Toyota.
• The 1400SWALIM power supply, which is able to supply sufficient current and voltage to communicate with the electronic control units in a stable and safe manner.
• Cable 144300TALI, for powering the instrument using a desktop power supply (in contrast, the power supply is sold separately).
• 144300KBNC cable for communicating with the control units directly on the desk.
• Package 144300KTER, which contains all cables useful for connection in BENCH or BOOT (extender) mode.
• 144300T104 IDC 26-10 rainbow cable consisting of 10 wires, which is used to connect directly to the electronic board of the control unit.
• 144300T105 rainbow cable IDC 26-16 consisting of 16 wires, used to connect directly to the electronic board of the control unit.
• 144300T106 IDC 26-26 rainbow cable consisting of 26 wires, used to connect directly to the electronic board of the control unit.
